Summary/Objective 

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer with expertise in Python programming to optimize the design, production, and calibration workflows in the manufacture of precision-imaged optical components, image quality analysis test targets, calibration standards, and photomasks.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical competencies in the fields of optics, imaging, and barcode verification, specializing in product design and developing, configuring, and optimizing the corresponding manufacturing and metrology processes.     

Essential Functions 

  • Work with Sales/Marketing and Operations to bring new products from concept into production.  Meet customer requirements for standard and custom products. 
  • Design, build, test, upgrade, and document products, manufacturing processes, and test fixtures. 
  • Write and/or modify work instructions for manufacturing processes 
  • Devise, document, and maintain calibration and preventive maintenance processes for manufacturing equipment and inspection, measurement, and test equipment. 
  • Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates/yields and quality. 
  • Troubleshoot product quality issues and determine root causes.  Write investigation reports and rework instructions. 
  • Set up and perform ad-hoc engineering tests in cooperation with Operations. 
  • Proactively provides 2nd or 3rd-level support to production operations to diagnose problems and decide the best way to correct them. 
  • Suggest ways to improve line efficiency, reduce cost, and assist in bringing other suggested improvements to the line. 
  • Meet financial and business objectives with accurate quality forecasting, executing programs within cost and schedule, resolving problems, and driving functional strategic improvements. 

Education and Experience  

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in image analysis, photolithography, and optics manufacturing. 
  • Experience with barcode verification systems and industry standards (ISO/IEC 15415, 15416, 29158). 
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems 
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other process improvement methodologies (preferred). 
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office
