Explanation of TERMINOLOGY

Chrome on CERAMICS:BLUE Chrome coating on CERAMIC material.
(for further info go to SUBSTRATE & COATING Materials)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chrome on GLASS:
Low Reflective Chrome coating on Sodalime or GLASS type of materials.
(for further info go to SUBSTRATE & COATING Materials)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chrome on OPAL:BLUE Chrome coating on OPAL material
(for further info go to SUBSTRATE & COATING Materials)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cy/mm:Cycles per Millimeter (1 cycle = 1 open space and 1 feature space of equal sizing)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Low Contrast Coating:A coating differential between background and foreground as defined by the Weber Contrast Method. All measurements are measured at 500nm wavelength.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pitch: Distance between individual feature center points
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plastic Opaque Backing:By adding a thermoplastic 90 mil thick board to the backside of a target or chart adds stiffness and rigidity to the chart. In addition, the  thermoplastic material reduces shrinkage  and expansion due to temperature and humidity changes as well as maintaining flatness during usage.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Polarity:Positive:   Dark or opaque features on a transparent or white
                     background
Negative:  Transmissive or white features on dark or opaque
                     background
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reflective Material:Hi-Res Photographic Paper that will reflect light back from
   its surface.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Transmission Material:
Hi-Contrast polyester based material with emulsion coating that allows light to transmit through it.
(for further info go to SUBSTRATE & COATING Materials)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Transmission Material
mounted between GLASS
:

Variable-Contrast polyester based material with emulsion coating mounted between two pieces of glass that allows light to transmit through it.
