APPLIED IMAGE, Inc. General Manufacturing Term & Condition Notes

APPLIED IMAGE will use these general specifications unless stipulated within the R.F.Q. drawing(s) and /or as noted within, or in the APPLIED IMAGE response quotation.  APPLIED IMAGE may take exception(s) to your request and these will be noted in the “NOTES” section within the response quotation.  Any future changes or variations to these specifications may affect the overall pricing and may require a revised quotation.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS: (if not specified)

A) Materials will be chosen by APPLIED IMAGE (if not specified):

  • Standard material for glass products: Sodalime, Opal, Ceramic
  • Standard material for reflective products: Silver-halide photographic paper
  • Standard material for transmissive products: Silver-halide photographic film

B) No special coating(s) will be applied to either minimize or enhance reflection or transmission (if not specified)

C) Unless otherwise specified, transmission photographic density is measured with diffuse illumination, ortho spectral sensitivity (centered at ~590nm), and reflection photographic density is measured at 0:45 diffuse reflectance nominally near 550nm. Color transmission spectrophotometer measurements are made with no diffusion, at 0 degrees, at 550nm.

D) Defects:

  • Line breaks smaller than 50% of a bar width are acceptable – not to exceed 50µm
  • Spot between bars, smaller than 50% of a space width are acceptable – not to exceed 50µm
  • Edge defects on a bar less than 1/4 bar length and less than 25% of bar width are acceptable – not to exceed 50µm

E) Angular Dimensions of Images +/- 1 degree

F) All other defects per MIL-PRF-13830

G) Spots/Voids: 40µ (.040mm) (.0016”) diameter max

H) Unless otherwise specified, all contrasts will be calculated as the difference between the maximum and the minimum transmittance (or reflectance for solid substrates)

I) No defects allowed within 2mm of any imaged features. Unless otherwise specified, 3 defects less than 40µm are allowed on any one part.
