Per MITRE Technical Report (MTR060170R5) “Test Procedures For Verifying Image Quality Requirements for Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Single Finger Capture Devices" APPLIED IMAGE is introducing the PIV family of products. As specified within the document, five targets are required for the verification process. They are available in KIT form or as individual pieces.
In support of the August 2004 issuance of Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standard-201 (FIPS-201) the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) developed the PIV Image Quality Specification. A single fingerprint capture device product must comply with the PIV specifications (and complete other specification steps) in order for it to be placed on the FIPS-201 Approved List for purchase by Federal agencies.
PIV-KIT-1 contains the M13-60-1x-RM Sinusoidal array with frequencies from 0.1875 to 12.0 cycles per millimeter (overall size: 89mm x 159mm / 3.5 in. x 6.25 in.) and the five individual PIV Calibration targets.
PIV-KIT-2 contains the M13-60-S-RM Sinusoidal array with frequencies from 1.0 to 10.0 cycles per millimeter (overall size: 16mm x 16mm / 0.63 in. x 0.63 in.) and the five individual PIV Calibration targets.
