Return Policy


We understand that occasionally returns take place either because the wrong product was ordered or, in the case of complex optical imaged custom components that are challenging, an error might exist. In those rare cases, please contact our CUSTOMER SERVICES department who will issue an RMA # (Return Material Authorization) for the return. Please DO NOT ship anything back without such an RMA#.

The following cancellation or returns may take place:

1. CANCELLATION of a CUSTOM ORDER – Cancellation by the customer of any confirmed CUSTOM ORDER is subject to a Cancellation Fee. The amount depends upon how much work was already performed (in process) and what materials/processes were already specifically ordered for the order.

2. RETURNS of CUSTOM ORDERS for a QUALITY ISSUE: Even though APPLIED IMAGE goes to great lengths to assure the exactness of the work being performed for our customer, from time to time errors do occur especially since the work performed is sometimes extremely complicated and challenging imaging work. Should such a rare reject become necessary, please contact our Customer Services department for return instructions who will issue an RMA # (Return Material Authorization number) . Upon receipt of the item in question by APPLIED IMAGE, and after incoming inspection of the item, feedback will be given to you (our customer) on our findings. If the product is indeed not made to specifications, then APPLIED IMAGE will issue credit on those parts, or remake the parts, at APPLIED IMAGE discretion. In general though, we will do our best to redo the part to higher levels but this is not always possible because of the complexity of what is being asked of us. Thus, we must have this option, as already mentioned, because although rare, sometimes (in our eyes), it simply cannot be made any better than what was produced.

3. RETURNS of STANDARD CATALOG PRODUCTS for QUALITY ISSUES – If purchased item was not made to specifications, and our incoming QC determines that is the case, then APPLIED IMAGE will issue full credit on the item and a new replacement part will be shipped to you with no freight charges.

4. RETURN of STANDARD CATALOG PRODUCTS you purchased incorrectly or simply decide you do not need; returns on such Catalog Standard Products are subject to a 25% inspection and restocking fee plus any shipping and handling charges we may have encored on your behalf. Assuming that our Quality Control department finds the standard parts to be in the same condition as originally shipped, then the following will apply: a) if the return is within 30 days of our invoice date, and no defects found, a refund will be issued in the form of cash (if already paid) or credit against the invoice (if not paid yet), less the 25% restocking fee and shipping handling costs previously mentioned; b) if the return is after 30 days but less than 60 days from our invoice date, and no defects were found by our incoming, then only credit (less 25% restocking plus original shipping handling costs) will be issued on your behalf for the purchase of future products (either catalog standards or custom designs). No refunds will be given on product that is 60 days or older from invoice date.
